BC Bouldering Provincials Semi-final Results @ Hive North Shore

Results are in for the first round of the British Columbia Bouldering Provincials, sanctioned by Sport Climbing BC and hosted by The Hive North Shore.

One the Men’s side, it looks like Ivan Luo, in true competition fashion, has landed himself at the top of the finals list followed by Squamish-local Tosh Sherkat. Predictably, Guy and Kinder McNamee have made finals along with Jason Mah who continues to have a stellar season. Great to see Kin Wai Lah back in the mix after a year of injuries as well as Andrew Funk who has struggled to gain his footing in the BC competition scene.

On the Women’s side, there is no surpise with Hung Ying Lee sitting at the top of the list followed by Allison Vest. Great to see Mika Hosoi in the mix as well as Canmore-local Rebecca Frangos, Victoria-local Allison Stewart-Patterson and Kelowna-local Staci White. The dark horse here is Sally Kim and can’t wait to see how she lands in the mix of these strong competitors.

Finals is surely to be a show down of these fine climbers.

Recent News ‘Josh Muller makes One Day ascent of The Nest Stand (v13)’

We are very psyched to announce that Josh Muller has made a day ascent of The Nest stand start (v13).

Looks like hard work does pay off. After spending most of last year opening up a new bouldering gym (Bolder Climbing) in Calgary, Josh is now on his first bouldering trip since blowing a tendon in Heuco Tanks two years ago. On his second day on the rocks, Josh made an ascent of The Nest Stand Start (v13) only to be shut down by snow later in the day after making good work in the sit start. Congratulations Josh! Lets home this government shutdown doesn’t last too long!
