In front of a crowd of 170+, the Tour De Bloc took place at the Calgary Climbing Centre last night. With a strong contingent of Alberta climbers, the stage was set, with Eric Sethna as the favoured frontrunner on the Men’s side and a tough field with now clear frontrunner on the Women’s side.

For spectators at home, the live stream of the event proved to be a worth watch, albeit a few technical difficulties. The biggest technical of the night came when Alyssa Weber ripped off a hold on the Women’s #3 dyno only to then be ejected by a spinning hold on her next go. To top it off, the night ended by Stacey Weldon punching herself in the face off #4, leading to a bloody nose. All was not lost though, with Alyssa taking first place and Stacey taking taking fourth.
Overall, a great competition put on by the Calgary Climbing Centre. Special thanks to the organizers and volunteers that make these comps possible!
