Another awesome topo by Allen James Rollin!

A beautiful and scenic crag located above Arrow Lake, Tulip Falls is an amazing place to climb. The rock is made of a rounded type of Gneiss that offers lots of interesting movement and holds and even the elusive ‘Gneiss Tufa’. There is not a lot in the easier grades here but if you climb 5.10d-5.11d then this place is perfect. District Releases New Camping Guide for Squamish

Last week, the District of Squamish released a New Camping Guide for visitors. The document has been met with both positive and negative reactions but nonetheless, it is here to stay. The experience of people living in vehicles, whether for economic or lifestyle reasons, has been a difficult situation for a number of mountain towns as they come to grips with more visitors along with housing and rental prices that seem to divide people on economic lines.

Video ‘The Origins of the University Wall’

In 1965, four university students, Glenn Woodsworth, Hamish Mutch, Tim Auger and Dan Tate, began cutting classes so that they could attempt a new route up the Squamish Chief, each day they would push the route higher and at the end of each adventure they would return to their books. In a time of youthful rebellion and enthusiasm they also began to climb the walls of the university. University Wall is a magical musical ride through the archives and an entertaining look at the historical exploits that inspired the young lads to take their academic studies to new heights.

Video ‘Bouldering in Wonder Valley near Banff, AB’

Awesome video featuring Matt Hendsbee, Miles Adamson, Marc Eveleigh, Zach Watson and Scott Eveleigh as they hike eight hours to find the best bouldering in the Bow Valley!

Last year Matt and I checked out a potential new climbing area in Wonder Valley near Lake Louise. We found a cluster of striking lines on huge boulders resting in a flat alpine meadow. With the boulders surrounded by a horseshoe cliff band, it couldn’t get much better! The only problem was getting there, on our reconnaissance trip we did 32 km, way too far for a day trip. Fast forward to this year, after months of planning and organizing Matt, Miles, Marc, Zach, and I were scheduled in for 5 days in the backcountry. It took us almost 9 hours to hike in over a ridge with three crash pads, 50+ lb back packs and more than 1000 meters of elevation gain. It was worth the effort and this is the result.
