Police Identify Squamish Homicide Victim Jesse James as Davis Wolfgang Hawke | Recent News

In 2017, we reported that local climber known as Jesse James had been found inside a burned out vehicle on Cheekye Forest Service Road leading to Cat Lake.

Yesterday afternoon, the RCMP officially identified the body thought to be ‘Jesse James’ as Davis Wolfgang Hawke, a fugitive running from the law, because of a DNA match.

If the story couldn’t get any weirder, Davis Wolfgang Hawke was known for being a neo-nazi and an early internet spam organizer, only to find himself a new identity in Squamish, BC years later.

Known as Jesse James while in Squamish, BC, a number of tales circulated around town, including him flashing huge wads of cash, being the author of the book Psychology of Seduction and more odd stories.

It is now unknown why Jesse James was murdered in his van where he was first shot and then burned inside his vehicle. According to multiple sources, the RCMP are seeking any information on contacts of Jesse James.

Anyone with more information about Hawke’s death is asked to phone IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they want to remain anonymous.
