Recent News – Dan Beland Sends Peregrination (5.14b) in Hurricave, Utah

We are pleased to announce that Dan Beland has sent Peregrination (5.14b) in the Hurricave, Hurricane. Utah. The send marks Dan’s fourth 5.14b over the past year including ascents of Fifty Words for Pump in the Red and Devine Fury in Maple Canyon.

Dan and Jared Nelson have made some quick work of the area, both sending Killer Bees (5.13d) at the same cliff. Jared Nelson has also made ascents of Curious George and Rick Ross, both in the 5.13c range. Congratulations guys! On to some harder stuff!

Video – Carlo Traversi On the Second Ascent of Meltdown (5.14c)

Ten years. That’s how long Meltdown stood unrepeated. Considering that Meltdown is located in the mecca of traditional climbing, it’s safe to assume that the Yosemite route—established by Beth Rodden on Valentine’s Day in 2008—is one of the hardest crack climbs in the world. But on November 7, 2018, BD Athlete Carlo Traversi put all the pieces together, and clipped the chains on the route, claiming the coveted second ascent of Meltdown.
