Running Order For 2019 Canadian Open Bouldering Nationals Now Available

Yesterday, Climbing Escalade Canada released the running order for the 2019 Canadian Open Bouldering Nationals that will be hosted at Bolder Climbing Community in Calgary, Alberta.

55 men and 34 women athletes will compete for the National Title. After winning the National title for the last five years, Sean McColl will be sitting out in order to train for the upcoming World Cup season in Europe. Last years Women Open Champion Allison Vest will defend her title after a dominating performance at the Tour De Bloc two dominating performance

Interview with Author and Climber Kelly Cordes | 2019 VIMFF

Climber and author Kelly Cordes has established new alpine routes around the world, from Alaska to Peru, and Patagonia to Pakistan. An editor for the American Alpine Journal from 2000-2012, Cordes went on to chronicle the history of Cerro Torre in his book The Tower which won a 2015 Banff Mountain Book Award and a National Outdoor Book Award. Following the completion of his book, he co-authored Tommy Caldwell’s 2017 bestselling autobiography, The Push. Kelly currently lives in Estes Park, Colorado and spends his time climbing and skiing as much as he can.

Documentary on Stoney Point, California | Video

“Stoney Point: Portrait of an American Crag” is a one of a kind, feature documentary based on the unique climbing culture of a small city park on the outskirts of Los Angeles, California. Though often overlooked, few climbing areas can compare with the rich and storied history of Stoney Point.

For the last 80 years Stoney Point has served as a breeding ground for some of America’s greatest climbers. Royal Robbins, Yvon Chouinard, John Bachar, Michael Reardon and many more were at one time or another Stoney locals. Their mark is still visible today in the climbs they established and the community they helped develop.
