Review of Exposure II
Shark Shop Creative, led by principal cinematographer Chuck Fryberger and director Kyle Berkompas, released their newest film Exposure II earlier this week.
Exposure Vol II, directed by Kyle Berkompas, follows athletes Daniel Woods, Jimmy Webb, Alex Megos, Alex Puccio, and Dmitry Sharafutdinov as they push both both their own personal limits and the limits of climbing. This years film brings you stories and ascents from around the globe including Russia, Switzerland, Germany, Bishop, Squamish, and Colorado in a heart-pounding, forearm pump inducing journey to discover the impossible. Catch Daniels ascent of Lucid Dreaming 8C/V15, Alex Megos on Action Directe 9A/5.14d, and Alex Puccio on her first V13/8B, Top Notch.
Squamish Climbing Magazine had a chance to see the film and here is our review.
Competition this Weekend in Squamish
Some important information regarding the Squamish Bouldering Cooperative competition and membership drive this weekend.
Due to the insane number of people that were in the Co-Op at one time we are limiting each round to 25 people, if you come for the 12 O’clock round and there is already 25 people in the gym at that time you will be put on a list to join the 2 or 4 O’clock round.
his year we will be having 3 distinct “heats”.
The times for these heats are
12pm to 2pm
2pm to 4pm
4pm to 6pm
We suggest you come early to guarantee a space to climb!
We understand that this will likely inconvenience some people, but it has been decided that having too many people in the gym at one time is not worth the insurance risk to the Co-Op. If anything, this gives you an excuse to go out and support some of the great local businesses we have in Squamish!
Bring some cash to buy a sweet t-shirt and don’t miss the after party!

Climb and Conquer with Joseph Wong
More often and not, when you are out and about in the local climbing hotspots, you see one or two (or ten!) people wearing Climb and Conquer T-shirts. I had no idea what was behind these t-shirts until I did a little research of my own. Climb and Conquer Society Canada is a registered charity, run entirely by volunteers located in Vancouver, BC. They support youth (age 4-18) from disadvantaged backgrounds to build healthy self-esteem, relationships and leadership skills through rock climbing and caring mentorships. Currently, they service the Greater Vancouver area. The person behind this great idea is Joseph Wong and I thought it would be a great idea to catch up with him and give you the insight on what is going on.
