Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson attempt to free The Dawn Wall

The Dawn Wall: perhaps the most famous undone climb in the world, and certainly a contender for the hardest. All the single pitched have now been redpointed and once again Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson are making a push to free the entire route. Thanks to modern social media, we get to watch their progress live. If you haven’t already, checkout their Facebook pages for daily updates, including some great photos.

And since no one can get enough Tommy Caldwell these days, here is a video of him preparing for The Dawn Wall by redpointing a bunch of hard routes at the Monastery in day.

TBT: Jonathan Siegrist part 2

Much like Tim, I very much enjoy a good Jonathan Siegrist flick. I’ve had the pleasure of climbing with the guy a couple of times. He’s super cool and has a great attitude. It’s always refreshing to me a pro climber who is just psyched to climb, without a huge ego attached. My favorite Siegrist clip is the one below from Louder Than 11. Great editing, awesome footage, a cool track and no fluff. Not to mention, the featured area is Little Si, a not to distant sport climbing destination. One which more and more Vancouver climbers are realizing is close enough for a day trip.

Nalle Hukkataival climbs “Silbergeier”

Check out this great video of Nalle climbing a sick 8b+ (14a) multipitch in Switzerland.  It’s very impressive that this was his first multipitch! The route is a famous test piece from the 90’s so really great to see it getting some media
