New First Ascent from Nate Woods in the Valley

This video features Nate Woods from the Lower Mainland doing the first ascent at Elbow Lake. According to Marco, this problem is similar to No Troblems but with 30+ ft of climbing. Nate added a hard sit start to an old classic, Suspension of Disbelief V10. Not sure of the new rating but it definitely V10+. Filmed and edited by Marco Lefebvre.

Will Stanhope ‘What I love about Trad Climbing’

For those interested, here is a link to Will Stanhope’s latest blog post courtesy of Arcteryx.

“When I was eighteen I landed a job as a “Nature Guide” at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. It was the most relaxing summer job I’ve ever had. On my down time I’d hide underneath the swinging bridge, eat ice cream and stare at the swirling green water of Capilano River and daydream about rock climbing.

For those who haven’t heard of Domen Skofic, he is a young professional climber from Slovenia. Last year, he had two fourth place finishes during the World Cup season and recently sent Papichulo (9a+) in Spain and Underground (9a) in Arco.

Domen was one of the athletes who was a part of the IFSC Climbing Camp in February and Squamish Climbing Magazine will be featuring him in a few upcoming videos. He was quick to make a number of links and, when talking to Domen about the route, he said he will be sure to come back for the send. Here are two videos of Domen on his most recent sends.
