A number of sources on instagram are reporting that Adam Ondra has flashed Jade (v14) in RMNP. First completed by Daniel Woods, this problem has had a lot of attention over the past few years. Once considered the hardest problem in the world, Jade was later downgraded from v15 to v14. For those who missed our interview with Adam Ondra during his visit to Squamish, please click here.

IFSC Bouldering World Cup Vail: Interview with Thomasima Pidgeon Part Two
The second IFSC Bouldering World Cup of the season starts today in Vail, Co. Rumour has it that the weather around Colorado has made it difficult for those getting there last minute. With the Toronto and Vail events being so close together, athletes who are competing in both events can reflect quickly on their performance and make the changes necessary for the next round.
Last week, we interviewed Thomasina Pidgeon as she prepared for the IFSC Bouldering World Cup Toronto and we thought it would be interesting to check in with her as she moves from one competition to another. Thomasina left for Colorado on Tuesday and here is what she had to say.

Rock The Blocs in Kelowna, BC – June 20-21st, 2015
It’s time. The Rock the Blocs Boulderfest is coming back to the Boulderfields!
This 3rd annual bouldering festival was created in 2013 as a way to showcase and promote the world-class bouldering in the Boulderfields (near Kelowna, BC, Canada) while also getting the climbing community together for a great time. The Boulderfields is a massive boulder field caused by an ancient geologic collapse. This has left a huge playground for boulderers, filled with thousands upon thousands of boulders and seemingly limitless potential for new lines. With the area experiencing a bouldering development boom over the last 5 years or so, Rock the Blocs has become a perfect way to share the blooming destination with others.
The festival itself involves a weekend of bouldering competition and area development/ maintenance aimed at getting climbers onto the incredible rock of The Boulderfields and providing an opportunity to improve the area. Since the inaugural year, the festival has grown quickly. Attendance and sponsorship more than doubled last year with about 150 climbers coming from all over the world to participate, and this year is looking to be even bigger. With bouldering in the Okanagan region of BC booming, the Rock the Blocs Boulderfest in the Boulderfields is a great way for people to experience the hype. Come out and see what all the fuss is about!
Start List for the IFSC Bouldering World Cup Vail

The Granite Life Part 1 by Alex Savage
Here is a new video by Squamish local Alex Savage.
We dare you to watch this without wiping the sweat off your palms once – Squamish has some beautiful highball boulder problems and in this episode Joe Maier and Kyle O’Meara go after some of the classics. First, Joe methodically powers his way up the super tension-ey Snakes of Shaolin, V10, that includes an incredible lock-off at the lip (which just happens to be 20 some feet off the deck). Then he and Kyle go after the “buck wild dyno” on the top of Straight Outta Squampton, V9. Wild Highball Dynos In Squamish | The Granite Life, Ep. 1
UPDATE: Climber Falls While Climbing in Cheakamus Canyon
This morning, we posted the story below written by CBC describing a fall that occurred in Cheakamus Canyon on Sunday morning. According to outside sources, it was reported that the climber was on a new multi-pitch in the area called Centurion. The climber was on pitch one when a huge rock pulled off the route and severed the climber’s rope causing him to fall to the ground. Sources indicated that the climber was not badly injured but did sustain some injury due to the fall.
UPDATE: New sources indicated that climber was on a route in the same area as Centurion and sounds like it was the route Dingo Ate My Baby. According to sources, the climbers were at the start of the second pitch when the climber on lead pulled on a flake that he suspected was a little loose, the block fell and cut the climber’s rope. The climber sustained a broken arm, a big cut on his calf, and a sore back.
