In partnership with the Climbers Access Society of British Columbia, this year will mark the first ever Route Development and Bolting Clinic at the Arc’teryx Climbing Academy.
This free, hands-on seminar (still need to sign up!) has been designed to teach both new and intermediate developers the ins and outs of developing safe routes and placing bolts properly. Lead by local Arcteryx athlete Paul McSorely, learning goals for the clinic include placement and preparation, best practices when drilling, equipment considerations and standards, and inserting bolt and hanger. Other topics discussed will include single vs multi pitch considerations, anchor placement, and bolting for safety. Course will take place July 23rd, 2017 @ 930 am.
This is a great opportunity to all those climbers hoping to build the development skills. Be sure to sign up soon as space is limited!
