We recently had the opportunity to review the R1 Percussion massage gun from Roll Recovery.
The R1™ operates with 40W of power (50W max power), has 4-speed settings, 4-unique attachment heads and is packaged in a beautiful, aircraft-grade aluminum anodized body for long lasting durability. Charging the Lithium Ion battery is accomplished with a USB-C charger (included). It looks just as good as it works and will be an asset in your recovery arsenal.
First Impression
Having a little experience with massage guns, I was interested in the R1 Percussion as soon as I saw it because of its sleek design. Other guns are so big that you would never even think of putting them in your crag bag but the R1 Percussion was the perfect fit. Made from an aluminum body, the R1 Percussion feels great in your hands and you can carry it anywhere. The tool has been sitting in my living room for the past month and honestly, everyone who comes by the house gives it a try and always wants to know where they can pick one up.
Overall, the R1 Percussion is an awesome tool. The only con that we could see while testing this unit was the battery level system that was integrated into the unit. Most devices use a bar system for telling how the battery is doing and the R1 actually uses a blinking light to let you know how much battery is left. I imagine this was used to keep costs down but without knowing what the lights are saying, it is difficult to know where your battery is at.
For $130.00 off the Roll Recovery website, this little crag tool may be worth it for those looking for a massage at the crag or after a hard day of projecting. We would strongly recommend this product for anyone seeking out a massage gun!
