Raw footage of Jason Holowach during finals at the Canadian National Bouldering Championship. Worth a look! Footage taken by Ben Fenton via Josh Muller. Thanks guys!
Here is the link for qualifications. A little late but here it is.
Check out this video of Nalle Hukkataival climbing L’alchimiste in Font. The problem was considered cutting edge when first climbed by Marc Le Menestrel in the mid 90’s. Shortly after, the crux holds were broken and the problem hasn’t been repeated until now. I haven’t heard of a grade yet suggested by Nalle, but given the time he put into it, it must be in the 8c/V15 range. Nalle is on fire these days. He seems to tick a new 8c boulder every few weeks!
Great clip of a recent first ascent by Miles Adamson. Miles moved to Vancouver two summers ago and has really made a positive impact on development in the forest.
According to the video description,
“This climb is found on the way to “Fantastic Mr. Fox – V7″ at Gonzales Creek. The parking is on the right immediately after passing the creek, driving northbound from Vancouver. Walk back towards Vancouver on the side of the highway. Walk up a bunch of rocks to the base of a cliff. At the cliff, turn right and cross the creek. The boulder is in the trees, in sight after entering the trees.
Start seated with a good holds and a large left foot. A couple compression moves lead to a complicated sequence getting on to the slab.”
Thanks for sending this to us Miles and keep them coming!

The following is footage of Adam Ondra at the IFSC Climbing Camp held at The Boulders in Central Saanich, BC. Adam talks about both indoor and outdoor onsighting, doing your research from the ground and some of his ethics around onsighting. The footage here is pretty rough but seemed the best way to capture the moment without taking away from the experience of others. Definitely not a quick hit before work but if you but aside some time to listen, I am sure you will find something valuable in what Adam has to say. Hope you enjoy!
Here are two videos from Spain. Both are well shot with beautiful frames of Spanish climbing. There is a lot of lifestyle shots in both but the climbing is worth a watch.
