We are pleased to announce that the climbing clinics for the Arc’teryx Climbing Academy in Squamish, BC from July 20th to 23rd, 2017 are now open for registration. A number of great clinics are being offered both Saturday and Sunday of this event.

Details for all clinics can be found on the Climbing Clinic page. A number of great names including Jonathan Siegrist, Jason Kruk, Leslie Timms, Jesse Huey, Paul McSorley, Paul Bride, Ines Papert, Hazel Findlay, John Walsh, Will Stanhope and more!

This week marks the beginning of the Chek Canyon Recreation Site expansion. The province will be adding 30 new campgrounds to the Chek area in and around the upper parking lot as well as near the foundation wall. A notice at the upper parking lot indicates that construction will start Monday May 15th, 2017.

All climbing at Chek Canyon will still be accessible to climbers. However, the uppder parking lot may be closed for certain periods of time as well as the campground itself. For those visiting, please pay attention to the signs and well will keep you posted with any changes.

Dave Graham and Fabian Buhl are working on the route “Capricorn” (8c+ / 9a) on the sector “Maison des Chèvres”, in Leonidio, Greece. Hard to climb that level under the rain!

Island-based climber Graham McGenere has been on a tear recently with his first 5.14a in December in El Salto, Mexico followed by his first 5.14b in the Utah Hills in April. Switching to a little bit of bouldering, Graham recently took down Beyond Life Sit (V12), his first of the grade. More to come for sure!
