Recall Notice ‘FIXE-1 PLX hangers’
For all climbers in and around the Squamish region, there has been a recall on the FIXE-1 PLX
hangers. These hangers have been a popular go-to for developers in our region and should be inspected when possible.
Fixe notes that these hangers have a ‘tendency towards oxidization in marine environments that is very high and unusual in some shipments.’

Legend Fred Beckey (1923-2017) Off Belay at 94
We are sad to announce that climbing legend Fred Beckey has passed away at the age of 94 in Seattle, WA. Living a life full of adventure, the passing of Fred is a celebration of a climbing life lived to the fullest.
Fred’s life was recently documented in the film ‘Dirtbag: The Legend of Fred Beckey’. Please see trailer below.

Austrian Climber Angie Eiter Sends La Planta De Shiva (5.15b); First Women to Climb 5.15b’
There has been a ton of exciting news in the climbing community over the past month and it just has not stopped. We are pleased to announce that Austrian Climber Angie Eiter has sent Adam Ondra’s La Planta De Shiva (5.15b) marking the first female ascent of the grade.
According to UKC, Angy had been working the route for a two year period as well as training specifically for the climb.
