Follow Scottish climber Dave MacLeod as he makes the third ascent of ‘Hunger’ at The Anvil, Scotland’s first 9a climbed by Malcolm Smith in 2010. Having given up trying the route in 2007 after a hold broke Dave returns over a decade later to complete one of his last unfinished projects in Scotland

Newly developed ‘Alumni Wall’ in McGillivray Canyon near Canmore, Alberta.

Calling the route “Missing & Presumed Drowned” for its reference to Alcatraz escapees and the experience of leading the upper sections. The route is characterized by some superb 5.9 and 10- climbing on good rock with excellent protection. While all hard moves are well protected, serious climbing exists in sections of loose and hard to protect mid fifth between the cruxes. The route is generally easy to follow but some variability may be found especially towards the top.

We are very psyched to announce that Evan Hau has sent Adam Ondra’s Sacrifice (5.15a) at the Colosseum in Canmore, AB. In doing so Evan has become the first Canadian climber to climb 5.15a (again!). Congratulations Evan! All that hard work paid off!
