2019 Alberta Open Bouldering Provincials Final Results

This past weekend, the Calgary Climbing Centre played host to the 2019 Alberta Open Bouldering Provincials. With a stacked group of motivated athletes, the competition was fierce!

On the Women’s side, power house Alyssa Weber was the only Women to make three tops, placing her on the top of the podium, closely followed by Eva Thompson. On the Men’s side, it all came down to attempts on bonus, as both first place, Loic Fujinaga and Josh Muller had two tops and 4 bonuses each, coming down to tries.

2019 SCBC Open Boulder Provincials Final Results

This weekend, Boulder House in Victoria, BC, played host to the 2018-2019 Open Bouldering Provincials. With a stacked field of strong athletes and setting by Kaleb Thomas, the competitions was surely to be a good one.

On the Men’s side, placing first was veteran climber and overall good guy, Jason Mah. On the Women’s side, Allison Vest defended her title, taking first for the second year in a row! Congratulations.

IFSC World Youth Championship: Canadian Results and Live Feed

The IFSC World Youth Championships will come to an end this weekend. A congratulations goes out to all our Canadian athletes who gave it their best this week. Below are the Canadian results for all categories throughout the week. Although none of our athletes made finals, the experience was surely worth the trip and those who can will come back with more confidence next year.

2015 Open Provincial Difficulty and Speed Climbing FINAL Results

The final results are in for the 2015 Open Provincial Difficulty and Speed Competition at The Boulders in Central Saanich, BC. It sounds like Czech climber Libor Hroza set a new (unofficial) world record in Speed today, with a time of 5.578 seconds. The official IFSC sanctioned world record currently sits at 5.6 seconds.

SCBC Provincial Championships This Weekend

Central Saanich, BC – Chair Kimanda Jarzebiak is pleased to announce that The Boulders Climbing Gym in Central Saanich will be hosting the Sport Climbing Association of British Columbia (SCBC) Provincial Difficulty and Speed Championships this Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, 2015. The Provincials mark the culmination of the SCBC 2014-2015 competitive climbing season, which saw a number of local competitions in the Bouldering, Difficulty and Speed disciplines take place across the Province and the completion of the Bouldering Provincials in North Vancouver in late January.

CEC Announces 2015 Canadian National Open Bouldering Team

Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) has recently announced the 2015 Canadian National Open Bouldering Team. THese athletes have been sanctioned by the CEC to compete in the IFSC World Cup circuit and represent Canada abroad. SCBC: Richmond Spring Cling FINAL Results

The SCBC Richmond Spring Cling difficulty competition took place at the Richmond Oval over the weekend. Despite a number of competitors taking to the rocks at Skaha, the event still had quite the crowd. For those of you who have not been to the Richmond Oval, it is quite an experience. The event was organized by Eric Jackman and included Co-head Judges Anna Lee and Cath Fairlie, Head Route Setter Simon Parton, and Technical Delegate Terry Spurrell. Below are the results of the competition.

SCBC: Spring Cling Difficulty and Speed Competition This Weekend

This weekend, the Richmond Oval will play host to ‘Spring Cling’, a difficulty and Speed competition sanctioned by Sport Climbing BC on April 4th, 2015. For competitors, check-in opens at 830am and for all those dedicated spectators, the finals for all categories will take place at 430pm. This is a great opportunity to check out the ocal and get out and cheer on your local athletes!
