New Topo for Rock of Ages in Cheakamus Canyon | Development News

Special thanks to Jack Fieldhouse for releasing the topo for Rock of Ages, a new crag in Cheakamus Canyon.

Directions

Walk up to the Electric Avenue crag in Chek, then take the trail to the left of the route “Kye’s Stairway To Seven”, up through the hydro line clearing. Follow the trail up for 10 minutes to enjoy some of the most uniquely featured rock in Squamish.

This crag was created in part by the donations to the Sea To Sky Route Development Fund. If you enjoy new routes please make a donation to the fund and support the route developers who work hard establishing them.

New Routes and Topo for The Papoose Backside | Development

We are pleased to announce that there is a new topo for the Papoose Backside thanks to the hard work of Nick McNutt.

Located behind the Papoose, there a number of new mixed/traditional pitches ranging from 5.6 to 5.12 on the “The Apprentice” and “Baby Bum” as described in the McLane guide as well as a few on the north/east sides of the Papoose.

We are very psyched to announce that Elan Jonas McCrae has made the first ascent of Adam Tutte’s vision ‘The Missing Link’ (5.14d) at Christie Falls near Kelowna, BC. Congratulations Elan!

The crag at Christie Falls seems to be producing a lot of good and hard routes thanks to the development of local climber Adam Tutte. Last Summer, Calgary-based climber Evan Hau made the FA of Neanderthal (5.14b), also put up by Adam Tutte.

New Topo for Gonzales Heights Near Shannon Falls | Development

We are pleased to announce that Drew Marshall has released a topo for his new area above Gonzales Creek named Gonzales Heights.

In the highlands above Gonzales Creek Wall is a collection of crags.
These are the Gonzales Heights! On the left is Above it All with the 4-pitch Watch it Burn (10c). To the right is Isengard, a group of steep walls hidden in the forest.

Tim Emmett makes FA on The Waterman (5.14a) on Anvil Island | Development News

We are pleased to announce that Tim Emmett has made the FA of his project, The Waterman (5.14a) on Anvil Island. The area, located on the East Side of Anvil, requires either a water drop or a big paddle (10km). Rumour has it that, during a development outage, a few of the fellas got caught in a current coming home that took them all the way to Bowen Island!

New Route at Nightmare Rock ‘Insomnia (5.12d) by Kris Wild | Development News

We are pleased to announce that Kris Wild recently made the first ascent of a new route at Nightmare Rock called Insomnia (5.12d). New route on the Wall of Dreams section of Nightmare Rock.

The route begins in the corner right of Morpheus and to the left of Who’s your Daddy and follows a line of bolts through six overlaps finishing in a wide stemming slot at the top of the wall. 33m, 16 bolts — Please be aware of the height of this route as it requires a 70 metre rope!

New Route at Rogue’s Gallery ‘A Day in Wonderland (5.12) | Development News

We are pleased to announce that Robyn Richards has opened a new route in Rogue’s Gallery named ‘A Day in Wonderland (5.12a).

The route is Located 5m left of Serendipity and 15 right of the Minotaur and described as 11 bolts, 25 metres and requires a stick clip for the first bolt.
