This weekend the country of China will play host to the IFSC World Bouldering Cup and Speed competition which will be held in Chongqing. Looking at the start-list, a number of competitors have chosen not to be a part of this competition. On the women’s side, both Alex Puccio and Anna Stohr are both out with injuries. Lone Canadian Women, Stacey Weldon, will giving everyone a run for their money. Stacey looks sharpened and ready to go with two great finishes in Toronto and Vail. It also looks like most female US athletes have given this stop on the IFSC circuit a skip, with only Sierra Blair-Coyle on the Women’s side.
Most competitors on the Men’s side look the same. The big players, like Adam Ondra, Sean McColl, and Jan Hojer will still be a part of the action. It is also great to see that Jason Holowach has made the trip to see how he does after placing sixth in Vail, CO. Either way, the competition Saturday will surely be exciting.
