According to the BC Parks Area Supervisor, the Angel’s Crest Trail will re-open today. The trail was closed after the rockfall that took place in the area last month. It should be noted that rockfall debris is still present on the upper sections of the Angel’s Crest Trail and people using the trail should proceed with extra caution.
UPDATE: BC Parks has just confirmed that there are Peregrine Falcons nesting on the route Angel’s Crest and they will be keeping the route closed until the young have fledged the nest. Please check the BC Parks website for any changes.
To protect the falcons and for your own safety, please respect the climbing route closure. Falcon monitoring will continue and the closure will be lifted by July 31, 2015, or earlier if monitoring indicates chicks have left the nest. .
