This week marks the beginning of the Chek Canyon Recreation Site expansion. The province will be adding 30 new campgrounds to the Chek area in and around the upper parking lot as well as near the foundation wall. A notice at the upper parking lot indicates that construction will start Monday May 15th, 2017.
All climbing at Chek Canyon will still be accessible to climbers. However, the uppder parking lot may be closed for certain periods of time as well as the campground itself. For those visiting, please pay attention to the signs and well will keep you posted with any changes.
