Here is an update by Andy White on the festival this weekend to take place in The Boulderfields near Kelowna, BC.
The weather has put a bit of scare into us, but with the largest and strongest group of competitors we’ve ever had, we’re going to try and make Rock the Blocs happen tomorrow.
We will be running the competition tomorrow- Saturday, and will be bumping the start time to 8am with the rules meeting starting around 7:30-7:45am or so. The hope is that we can get in at least a few hours of solid climbing before the suggested rain starts. If we get in even more, we should have enough scores to be able to call winners.
If we don’t get much climbing time tomorrow, we will pause the competition and resume when it’s safe on Sunday if possible. We’ll make that call part way through the day tomorrow.
We’ll be setting up later tonight and early tomorrow, so come get in for the raffle prizes early to make sure you’ve got a shot.
Let’s hope for some extra rain-less hours tomorrow and have a blast!!!
