The Hive North Shore will play host to a bouldering competition this coming weekend, Saturday, December 5th, 2015, that is sanctioned by both Sport Climbing BC and the CEC National Series.
With a $1700 cash purse for Open competitors, a number of climbers both local and out of town will be giving their best.
Registration for this competition closes 11:59pm on December 1. Registration can be completed at the SCBC website.

CEC National Series Event: Open, Junior & Youth A
SCBC Local Competition: Youth B,C,D & REC, EXP, MASTERS
Competition Format:
SCBC LOCAL: Youth B,C,D: (8:30am-11:00am)
• SCBC Format: ‘NEW’ scramble format
• 2.5 Hours
• Zone Boulders
• # of problems within each category will vary based on SCBC requirements.
SCBC LOCAL: Recreational, Experienced, Masters: (8:30am-11:00am)
• SCBC Format: ‘CLASSIC’ scramble format
• 2.5 Hours
• Ranked Boulders
• 30+ problems (exact number TBD)
CEC NATIONAL SERIES QUALIFIERS: Open, Junior, Youth A: (11:00am ISO Closes; Qualifiers: 12:00-5:00pm**)
• IFSC format; 5 mins on – 5 mins off
• 5 Male & 5 Female Boulders
• Male and Female Qualifiers run simultaneously.
CEC NATIONAL SERIES FINALS: Open, Junior, Youth A: (7:00pm**-10:20pm**)
• IFSC/SCBC Finals format
• Preview round for all finalists
• 4 Male & 4 Female Boulders
• 4 mins plus; Male & Female run simultaneously
• Running Order will be posted the evening of Wednesday Dec. 2nd

5:30pm-7:00pm: GYM CLOSED FOR CHANGE-OVER
6:30pm – GYM RE-OPENS FOR SPECTATORS – ALL ARE WELCOME!!

7:00pm – Finalists Announced & Preview Round Begins
7:20pm – FINALS ROUND BEGINS

Finals
Finals are held in the evening and start time depends on the number of Open competitors in qualifiers. Spectators are encouraged to come watch the show! We will have prizes from our sponsors: Arc’teryx, Evolv and PrAna, as well as beer for sale from our awesome neighbours Deep Cove Brewery!
Please Note: The Hive North Shore will be open for yoga and fitness only Wed. Dec. 2- Fri. Dec. 4 and will be open only to competitors on Dec. 5. Hive North Shore members are invited to climb at The Hive Vancouver for free during this closure and we invite everyone to come by in the evening to watch the finals show down! We will reopen on Sun. Dec 6 at 12pm with brand new problems. Come see what you’ve got!
