The weather over the past few weeks has been unbelievable in the sea to sky corridor and as it comes to a close, it is only appropriate to report what has been going on.
Two weeks ago, Marc Bourdon sent Nothing in Moderation (5.14a) in Murrin Park. This route was originally put up by Sonnie Trotter and graded 5.13c, but Marc’s ascent may be the first after crumbling holds.
Kelly Franz sent Primal Urge (v10) in the Grand Wall boulders. This is pretty awesome considering how hard this boulder is and that it was his first of the grade.
Jamie Finlayson sent Encore une Fois (v11). This is his first big send since back surgery this winter.
Jesse Warren recently completed When Harry Met Sally (v11). It is also worth mentioning that he sent Meadow Lark Lemon Stand (v13) earlier this year.
Update: Jesse also completed the link up from Squaminator into Squaminator Traverse (v13).
Oskar Michalak and Adolfo Guitierrez sent The Reckoning Stand (v10)
Hamish Thomson, Ben Hughes, and Kyle Murdoch all sent Gibb’s Cave (v8), their first of the grade. Watch out for these guys!
For those who don’t know, Squamish Climbing Magazine loves to report local climbing news whether it is a big send or an important step for any climber. Please keep us informed by emailing at the bottom of this page.
