We are so psyched to announce that Alannah Yip has taken first place at the IFSC Pan-American Championships 2020 which also sends her to Tokyo 2020!
An extremely exciting finish yesterday to the Women’s side of the competition, where both Alannah Yip and Becca Frangos were excruciatingly close in the standings. Both women climbed to the best of their ability. With some wildly close finishes in speed, the two athletes were placed 5th and 4th respectively, putting them in a great place for the rest of the competition. After topping all three boulders, Alannah Yip was 1st in the standings and it all came down to the lead wall, where Alannah was able to reach hold 52 ahead of competitor Alejandra Contreras from Chile and qualifying for Tokyo 2020.
What a special day for both of our Canadian competitors, Alannah Yip and Becca Frangos. We are proud of you!
