That is a wrap for the 2020 CEC Open Boulder Nationals hosted by Altitude Gym in Kanata, Ontario. The field was strong with a great mix of strong climbers from across the country.
Retaining her title was Allison Vest, who squeaked into Semi-finals in sixth place only to finish on the top of the podium. On the Men’s side, it was the 17 year old BC competitor Guy McNamee who secured first place by reaching the bonus hold on the last problem and then topping the problem for good measure. Missing from the competition was Canadian Olympic hopefuls Sean McColl and Alannah Yip, both of which are in the process of training for different stages of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Special thanks to all those who made this event a possibility!
