While the rain washed away most of the travelling climbers, there were a few that stuck it for this weeks sunny and cold temperatures. With the drop in temperature, there has been a number of notable ascents in the boulders.
We are pleased to announce that Paul Nadler, a travelling climber from the United States, has completed Shelter (v13). Paul has been coming back to Squamish on a regular basis for a couple years now, travelling with his dog Karma. Originally called Sharma’s Cave (v11) with a french-start from the bottom, The Shelter was first climbed by Tim Clifford and starts established on the beginning holds. We are glad to see Paul is back in top form!
In other news, Terry Paholek, from Edmonton, put to rest a project from last year, Overdrive (v11). Local climber, Scot Ellis sent Worm World Cave Low (v10). Michelle Yalowega made a quick ascent of Stinger Low (v9) and also sent Dj Pump Daddy (v10) in Gibb’s Cave. Conrad McFarlane, also from Edmonton, sent the Squaminator (v12) and Judith Hirsch, originally from Austria, had a great couple of weeks, sending The Reckoning Stand (v10), Jim Carrey (v9/10), and Dr. Bigglesworth (v10). Stella Marchisio, who recently moved to Squamish with her family from Italy sent Resurection (v9) and finally, Luke Zimmerman, a senior contributor to Squamish Climbing Magazine, continued his take down of every boulder problem in Squamish by recently sending the Emerging Dream Traverse (v11) (from right to left) and Siddhartha (v11).
Congratulations everyone! If you would like to report a send, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
