We are pleased to announce that Kim McGenere (formerly House) sent Galactic Emperor (5.14a) in Ten Sleep, Wyoming yesterday, marking her first climb of the grade.
Galactic Emperor (5.14a) follows a beautiful blue and orange streaked ‘just-steeper-than-vertical wall’ with powerful moves between tiny holds in the Sector D’Or et Bleu. Kim had been working the rig for two weeks in between rain showers. According to Kim, she slept terribly and had a later than usual start to the day but managed to pull it together flashing Esplanada (5.12d) just before getting on Galactic Emperor (5.14a), making it one of her best climbing days ever. Congratulations Kim!
