Squamish Climbing Magazine is pleased to announce our newest advertising partnership with Kilter Climbing Grips. Kilter is owned and operated by three longtime climbers–Ian Powell, Jackie Hueftle and Stephanie Lazewski. All three have been climbing for most of their lives and are passionate about climbing holds.
Kilter Grips are produced by Aragon Elastomers, the foremost climbing grip production facility in North America, located in Louisville, Colorado. This means they come in the material and colors you know and trust from brands like Teknik and e-Grips.
Kilter has just begun moving into Canada and they want you to have some Kilter on your walls! With that in mind, we are pleased to announce that for the first two months with Squamish Climbing Magazine, Kilter grips is offering a 20% discount off the retail price of all holds to our readership. If making an order with Kilter, please use the promotional code “SCM2015” to receive your discount
Ian Powell is the artist and shaper behind Kilter Grips. Ian has been shaping holds for over 20 years and has shaped for companies including Straight-Up, e-Grips (a company he also started), Revolution, and now Kilter. Many of Ian’s shapes have stood the test of time, and his Comfy Crimps set for e-Grips is still widely referred to as the best crimp set ever. With the Kilter line Ian is again turning shaping on its head with tons of new sets including the completely unique Teagan Kaiju Stalactites.
Jackie Hueftle is the head route setter of The Spot Gym in Boulder, Colorado. She has been setting since the late 90s and has set many large and pro competitions. Jackie is passionate about creating movement and began working with Kilter because she was so impressed with the new shapes Ian was creating.
Stephanie Lazewski is a longtime climber as well, though her main passion lies in the financial realm. Steph is the business behind the business–she’s the one who keeps Kilter spending money in all the right places, mostly for new molds!
