We are very pleased to announce that Stu Smith has found a very unique route in one of the coolest spots in Squamish.
The new route, Pool of Death, climbs a steep overhanging face that hangs above the water. Looks awesome stu!
Directions
Here are the directions according to Stu.
Park at the fern hill parking lot and walk down the main road (not the kayakers road) towards the bridge over the water fall, 50ish meters before the bridge turn right (across the road from the start of the pullout that is on the left hand side) and pick up a faint trail over some rock and into the woods follow fluorescent green tape, once in the old growth cross three fallen trees and then take a left off the main trail heading toward the river there is a fixed bomber static line to rappel and pull yourself in to the two bolt belay station on a large slanted ledge. All the draws are fixed besides the last. There is another fully bolted route that shares the first bolt then heads up and right I haven’t cleaned the top out of this but if your psyched dooo the FA I Left that one to convince more people to check it out. I also left a big boy pop at the belay for the second ascent enjoy!
